Come one, come all to this tragic affair…

Hey lads and ladies,

Me and my compatriot Gio went and saw My Chemical Romance last night. Two words, AWESOME! It was the last show on the Black Parade Tour, and the venue was the Budokan, a famous venue for live music in Tokyo which was originally built for martial arts events (there you go, you occasionally learn stuff from my posts too). It is a massive building, within a park, and it’s very cool. We were in the top section (there are three levels) and had a great view but I would have liked to been closer.

My Chemical Romance was supported by The Bouncing Souls, a cool punkband. There performance was great, even if I was only familiar with one of there songs, True Believer (which is still more than 99.9% of the audience). I felt kind of sorry for them, because the audience were seated for them (me and Gio were the only one headbanging in our section). However the audience got much more excited for My Chemical Romance, and almost everyone, even the salarymen behind got into it. However the guy next to Gio seemed to hate it and kept checking his watch.

The performance itself was amazing, they played through the entire Black Parade album (as the Black Parade) with costumes, pyros revolving drum kit etc. The stand out songs in this set were Teenagers and Mama. Great stuff! They then announced that My Chemical Romance would be up next and left the stage.

They returned to the stage and played another set (almost all of the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge album). This was without costumes and less theatrics. However the songs were more familiar, so more people sung along making the atmosphere even better. Of particular note was I’m Not OK (everyone singing along, sweet) and You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison (my favourite song).

Overall it was a great night. My hair went down great with the Japanese people, even old ladies. If anyone ever gets to see this band live, I highly recommend it. Best sick day eva.

Catch you on the flip flop hombres.

Yeah so we went to the zoo

Hey friendly young readers, it’s Brendan again.

So as Gio mentioned we finally went to the zoo. Heres some pics, you can see more on Flickr.

And heres a pic of the gross corn you can buy to snack on, mmm… delicious.

We then checked out the Tokyo Dome Amusement Park on Sunday night. Cool centreless ferris wheel, with a rollercoaster that goes through the middle. I tried to photograph the ride photos, but they are real blurry bein pictures of pictures. I might try again later. The ferris wheel ride photo may be the most ticklish thing I have been a part of (Annaleis’ photos from her house not included. Gio has also turned completely Japanese. Notice the peace sign he proudly produces for every photo (they are all like this now, check flickr).

I also bought an Ipod. Ewww gross a mac I here you say Kramer. Well I’ve news for you buster, for the size (30 gig) it is by far the cheapest mp3 player I could find, and it plays videos and stuff too, so nyah.

No plans this weekend, but I might mess around with some movie stuff on premiere. My Chemical Romance this week too.

That is what’s up! BIZARRO!

P.S.

Feel like learning something about Japan? Well Gio plans to do one of the cultural posts he does so well. Stay tuned. However if garbled nonsense and stupid smutty pics is your poison, I’ll be back in usual form.

Cursed Panda keepers!

As the name suggests, went to the zoo but missed the pandas!

We had the genius idea of seeing them last, however we were unaware that they take them away at 4:30, and we got to their bit at 4:40 ><…

Still, saw a giant anteater and stuff! And some kangaroos…..  Have a look!

Love, G

Do not feed the cats

Hey team, Brendan here again.

We did not end up going to the beach last weekend, but instead an area called Ueno. Ueno has a huge market area, with lots of cheap clothes and things. We bought a couple of BeeBee guns which turned out to be great fun. They are quite powerful and very accurate, and the pellets are quite hard plastic. I shot myself in the hand to see how powerful it was, and it hurt, A LOT! They will shoot a hole in a cardboard box and are so accurate we can hit light switches from the other end of the room. Greate success.

We then moved on to a massive seven story toy store. They have so many T-shirts I want, such as Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and Goonies. I will buy a sweet Rocky one this week. Wait for a pic.

Next up was Ueno park. It is an immense park (probably the most famous in Tokyo), that contains several museums, two temples, a zoo and huge number of feral cats. Signs everywhere proclaim “DO NOT FEED THE CATS”.

Our internet is connected and quite fast, but seems  bit unstable. You will go from 400k/s downloads, to bearly being able to load a website. I downloaded Premier Pro so hopefully you will see some videos soon.

Next weekend we plan on checking out Tokyo Dome amusement park, and maybe the zoo. On Friday I have my follow up training. Most people have it about a week after they start. I will it have it almost 3 months after.

I leave you with this advertisement for NOVA. We really do work in one ticklish place.

I sure hope business men start coming to class holding hands like these two guys.

Frenchman Bloody Nose Experience

A few people have asked me to explain this incident, so here goes. I am not 100% sure what happened, but I think I slammed into some guys girlfriend why I was moshing. Next thing thing I knew I was punched in the nose and blood was pouring everywhere. Because it was so crowded I could not be sure who had done it, and therefore couldn’t do much. However we were pretty sure it was this french dick who was hanging around.  I wasn’t hit so hard, it just bled a lot. Japanese mosh pits are so nice, everyone was asking me if I was OK and trying to help me. They were more worried than me, I expect that kind of thing in the mosh pit at a punk show. Hope this clears it up, not so excitng when you hear the whole story.
